I often ask myself this question and all through the years I have come up with different answers based on my current working condition and the type of people that I’m surrounded with.

During my first year, I always say that what makes me stay in PMC is “I enjoy what I’m doing”. This is probably because it is my first take on earning and living in my own means. It is hard work keeping up with the needs of the clients but the reward is what makes everything worth it. Seeing the happy faces of satisfied customers and knowing that you have helped someone using what you have learned is something that I really enjoy....and I’m getting paid to do this over and over again. On top of that I’m working with close friends, friends that I have formed bonds with and consider each other as family.

On my second year, the company started growing and expanding exponentially. With that we need to grow in numbers and the duty of educating the new breed of staff fell upon us. Also, this was the year when I got my first certification title which paved the way for other certifications for the years to come. On this year, I can say that the reason why I stayed with PMC is that “I am continuously challenged”.

My third year in PMC is a year of travel. As part of the Training team, our main role is to support the retail store by providing one-on-one training and also to support the newly established Education Team by conducting seminars and small talks to their clients. We get to visit different educational institutions and companies in and out of Metro Manila. As Trainers we need to undergo a lot of training ourselves as well. Most of these trainings are done outside the office and in fact, twice this year we went to Singapore to attend trainings on a different level. Being one of the pioneer of our team gives me the opportunity to try out new things and study new topics as part of my duties and responsibilities. So, in the year 2009 I can say that what makes me stay in PMC is “I have lots of opportunities”. Opportunity to travel, opportunity to learn, opportunity to meet new people and of course opportunity to gain new ground on the retail and training field.

By the year 2010 - 2011, we have grown our team into a significant size that even though PMC has grown to more than 15 stores we can still accommodate the increasing demand for internal and external trainings. It is also during the middle of 2010 that we have been granted by Apple the Authorized Training Center title, capable of delivering certification courses and certification exams. This is a huge step for our team as we can now cater trainings that was previously offered outside the country. This just shows that our efforts in delivering quality training are not being taken for granted and that a company like Apple did recognize what we can do. That we can deliver the trainings that they have develop and that they can trust us to uphold the title that they only grant to selected few. It is obvious that the company is growing exponentially by this time and all I can say is that I have chosen to stay with PMC because “there is growth”. The company is growing and with it our careers and character are growing with it.

This year 2012 is one of the highlights in the history of Training Department. It is during this year that the Training Center has been built and now we have a place that is entirely of our own. Being assigned as the OIC of the place means I have bigger responsibilities and expectations. This also means that I can do more things given that we have more resources at our disposal. I am thankful that the company has given us their trust by providing everything that we need to support the retail side of the business and also by providing us the means to start a business. An entirely new line of service offering that only Power Mac Center and its line of certified personnel can provide. As such, the reason now why I am still staying in Power Mac Center is that I feel that “I am needed” and that “I can make a difference”.
